The Assistant Kitchen Manager Role

An Assistant Kitchen Manager helps lead a venue kitchen that serves high guest counts across dining, bar and events. The Kitchen Manager owns the kitchen; the Assistant runs shifts, leads the cooks and keeps the operation organized when volume spikes.

Day to day, the Assistant Kitchen Manager runs the line and prep, checks product in, keeps stations stocked, holds recipe specs and ticket times, and supports ordering and inventory. The role trains and schedules cooks, keeps sanitation and food safety to standard, and runs the kitchen on the Kitchen Manager's days off.

Entertainment venue kitchens swing from quiet afternoons to packed events, so the job rewards people who plan ahead, communicate clearly and stay calm when the board fills. It is a strong path to Kitchen Manager and Executive Chef roles in venues and high volume restaurants.

Candidates come from Assistant Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, Kitchen Supervisor or Lead Cook roles in venues, high volume restaurants and banquet operations.
