The Chief Financial Officer Role

A Chief Financial Officer owns the financial health and direction of the company. The seat covers accounting and close, planning and forecasting, cash and treasury, tax and audit, and the capital decisions that shape how the business grows.

Day to day, the CFO gives the CEO, ownership and the operating team a clear, timely view of performance, builds the budget and the long range plan, manages banking, lender and investor relationships, and sets the controls and systems that let the company scale without losing visibility.

In a multi site or project driven business the role is as operational as it is financial. The strongest CFOs understand the unit economics behind every location, contract or property, and partner closely with operators to turn the numbers into decisions.

Candidates usually come from CFO, VP Finance or senior controller roles in comparable multi site, hospitality, real estate or construction businesses, often with capital markets or private equity experience behind them.
