The Clubhouse Manager Role

A Clubhouse Manager runs the food and beverage operation of a private club: the member dining rooms, casual outlets, bars, and the banquet and events business. The role reports to the General Manager and is the member facing leader of the clubhouse.

Day to day, the Clubhouse Manager is on the floor during service, leading the service and bar teams, handling member requests and overseeing events. Off the floor, the role owns the clubhouse budget, labor, cost controls, scheduling, hiring and training, and partners with the Executive Chef on menus and programming.

Clubs run on relationships, so the best Clubhouse Managers know the membership, anticipate needs and keep standards consistent across a full calendar of dining, holidays, tournaments, weddings and member functions. They also build strong management benches so the operation runs well when they are not in the room.

Candidates come from Clubhouse Manager, Director of F&B, Restaurant General Manager or Hotel F&B roles in private clubs, resorts and upscale restaurants.
